We hope to make this a place where we can help eachother out, and together we can create such a place! If you have any thoughts/ideas for the site, please don't hesitate to contact us!

Status Update
As you can see there has been no major changes here in a year, but this summer thats probably going to change. While I've been fixing bugs and adding minor features (like profile pages, experience filtering) during the last couple of weeks, I've also discussed adding support for Haiku (adding of Haiku-specific experiences/specification sets) with Justin.

The system itself supports it, but I haven't added the option for you (the user) to utilitize it yet. By adding Haiku support a couple of problems arise. Since Haiku currently is under heavy development, specification sets and experiences will surely be outdated pretty fast. The only hope would be that you update your laptops on a regular basis - or just wait until R1. This isn't only a Haiku problem per se, but also a problem with Zeta based experiences and specification sets, since Zeta also is under development. This problem can be "solved" by adding a last-updated-note on each experience and specification set. Maybe even include what version of the OS it was based on.

I also plan on adding some kind of comment/discussion system linked to each laptop using the forum. Don't know exactly how I want to do that yet. And lastly, any of you have any interest of me adding support for general hardware as well? Making this site a hardware-centric site for BeOS, Zeta and Haiku? I don't want to step on anyones toes though!

Well, anyways, exams first!

Forgot your password?
Something I simply forgot to add to the page is a possibility to retrieve your password if you forget it.

I have now, but the catch is that you will need to update your profile with a valid email. I encourage everyone that still remember their passwords to add their email to their profile. Your emails will not be public of any kind, and it will certinately not be sold or something like that!

If you have forgotten your password and haven't updated your profiles with an email address, please contact me at post(dogshit)petterhj(dot)net!

The new BeOS Laptop page
Hi everyone!

I've been working really hard this last couple of days on the new version of the BeOS Laptop Page. The last page became a hit, at least to me, seeing so many laptops beeing added by our lovely community.

I hope we can see a day where this new version will be as popular as the last one. With this new site, I know many of you may feel that your submission on the old site was in vain. I can assure you that it wasn't. Our very own Cougar have been busy porting some of the laptops from the old site, and he's not done yet! I hope to help him when the site is mature enough. We have decided, though, that we won't port your comments and ratings. This is because the new site features a user system making it possible for you and me to edit our laptop experiences when we feel the need to. Maybe new drivers has been developed, or maybe you know something now that you didn't when you added it.

Anyway, if you all could register, which is a fairly easy process by the way, and add your experiences to this site, it would be very nice, and not to mention useful for all those new to our community having / wanting a BeOS, Zeta or soon a Haiku laptop!

Thank you all, and thank you very much!
